REVIEW: Ruby and Ginger Cosy Seat Cover

Ruby and GINGER Ltd was established by two West Yorkshire mums with a passion for business – and for creating beautiful things for mums and babies. One of the innovative products they sell is their Cosy Car Seat Cover.

When the lovely ladies at Ruby and GINGER offered to send me and Xander one of their car seat covers to try and review the first difficult decision was what colour/design cover to choose because they are all gorgeous! There are currently three designs available: Berries (pink) Wallpaper (green) or Funky Flowers (blue)

I opted for the Funky Flowers design and when it arrived i was absolutely delighted with it. The design didn't look as blue as in the photograph on the website, more of a greyish blue but i think that is an advantage as it is not overly masculine and could be used for either a boy or a girl.

As soon as it arrived i couldn't wait to get the cover out of its packaging and put it on Xanders carseat! The covers are designed to fit all standard group 0 car seats. It is elasticated and slipped on with ease over the top of the carseat - there are no complicated ties or mechanisms. It literally takes seconds to pop on and off and the design still allows access to all the chairs safety harnesses and clips to move the carseat onto the pushchair frame.

The very day we received the Cosy Car Seat we popped out to the shops. It was a bit chilly and there was some showery rain. The great thing about the car cover is that it is tog rated at 3+, which meant that Xander stayed nice and snug whilst out!!

I was concerned that Xander may find the carseat cover a little daunting but you can see from the photo above he wasn't phased by it at all!! The 'V window' gave him the opportunity to still look around and for people to look at him!!

I couldn't believe all the attention we recieved whilst out and about with the Ruby and GINGER cosy carseat cover. Everyone commented on how unusual it was and how they hadn't seen anything like it before and i have to agree. The carseat cover is unique, beautifully made and completely practical. I'd recommend this product to anyone who is expecting a baby soon - especially with winter approaching it is a perfect addition to your baby kit!

If you take a look at the Ruby and GINGER website you will also notice that there are several coordinating products to go with the cardseat including nappy purses, toy ties and travel changing mats!
